It ended up being 115F today and about 4:15 PM or so, the triple transformer on the end of our road decided it didn't want to work anymore,
and it was about 9:15-ish before they got the power back on, so dinner was fast food dine-in, and we went for ice cream for them after that,
but a lot of the other time was spent just sitting around and sweating with the pets.

95F now. AC got blasted for a while to beat back Hades and now we're back on the swamp cooler.

Technically it did rain this afternoon though if i was the Flash, i could have ran around and caught all of it in a thimble.
It rained so much the airport a couple miles away from us didn't register anything.

Mama's sucking down fluids to compensate for the water loss but there's a vodka and something in my future.

Unfortunately we don't have much of a choice.

On the bright side, it looks like next Monday and Tuesday will just be mildly hot.

Even though it rained 12 seconds last night, it was enough that the humidity was 40% this morning.

^ That's 45C!!! Damn, that's hot. I've only ever experienced that in desert conditions, without buildings, cars, air conditioning, etc. It was still too hot for me.

It hit 113º while I was driving to Cost Plus & Trader Joe's at 3:00 in the afternoon. Why was I driving at 3:00 p.m. when it was so f***ing hot? That's a good question. It might have something to do with the whiplash I get listening to Jerry Powell at the Federal Reserve continuing to pretend inflation is "transitory." Every time that guy talks in public, I either make-then-lose or lose-then-make like $15,000 in an hour. Grr.

It's about 98F now. The airport down the road said it was 113F today. TV said it was 112F which is a huge difference.

I can't remember if Today was either the 7th or 8th day of temps over 110F.

Next week's looking better for us. (I'll believe it when it happens though)

The temp index could be downgraded to regular old "Jesus Christ, it's hot!!!" status.

It actually rained for about 10-15 minutes tonight.

98F was as high as it got today. It was cloudy most of the day so that kept some of the heat down, but we were at 25% humidity for most of the day.

    Currently 88F/31C at 10 PM-ish.
