But, looking out the window, it looks lovely and green; not a desert in sight.
There's something to be said for both climes. I do miss the greenery as when I lived in Houston and visited Iowa, but I find the crystal clear desert air and scenery hauntingly beautiful. If you visited me you'd be dehydrated, have dry skin, chapped lips and get nosebleeds, while I would feel oppressed by the thick air and continual rain in Eire; but my hair would be thick and curly again

I also pimped out and turbo'd my swamp cooler this year, installed a bigger pump, thicker pads, and adjusted the motor pulley for a slightly higher speed along with other adjustments and boy it really works wonderfully now.

Slowly but surely it's creeping up there.

Currently I can snuggle up with a nice blanket at night, but give it another month and we'll be lucky if a night is 80F or less.

Do your demons, do they ever let you go..?
When you've tried, do they hide, deep inside..?
Is it someone that you know..?

Summer doesn't start until June 20th but I think we have a good handle on it already.

    10:30 PM and it's probably still 89F/31C

^ Oh, shit! That's just too damned hot. (for me).

Here? Damp, misty, 13C. Doesn't feel like summer.

your Fantastic Four weather warning service is a bit stingy with their 'HOT'
icon - I'd consider anything above 32C/90F to be hot.

Imagine being a roofer in Tucson. Or anyone who works outside.

They've actually added a degree to those last 3 days now, and the extended forecast isn't looking well either.

All this heat is supposed to be good for our "monsoon" rain chances.

We sure could use a good amount of rain this year, as the city is already planning on jacking up the prices on the water bills now.

Then every single day of the summer would have HOT on it.

They actually call their Traffic cameras/Doppler weather radar system "Skynet."

Usually they stagger the hours when it gets real bad. Early mornings, later evenings, even overnight on some stuff.

At last, this is what we call summer over here. 15C (maybe even 16); clear blue skies; and a moderate westerly wind to keep things cool.

That means people going to the beach, getting sunburned, drinking in the sun and falling asleep, getting even more sunburned, barbecues (if the wind doesn't get too strong), eating outdoors, putting the woolly jumpers into storage.

Summertime, and the living is easy (if a little cool in the wind)..

    Oh, and...
