We had a great view of the fireworks last night and we had a good time.

Some friends of ours live over that way, so we drove over there and watched it from their backyard.

In a rare change of habit, Hubby wanted to drink so I was the designated driver for a change.

Usual BBQ & fixings, beer and wine for the adults and soda for the kiddies.

It's so easy to blow up your problems...
It's so easy to play up your breakdown...
It's so easy to fly through a window...
It's so easy to fool with the sound...

    Happy 4th of July USA

    PS

California celebrates with a 6.4 Earthquake around 10:30am today,
one of those rolling ones, like standing up in a boat

this one lasted kinda long, about 30 seconds

    biggest one since 1999

things falling off shelves, water mains broke

lots of aftershocks, 5.0 and above

out in the epicenter they said lots of damage,
earth moved apart about 3 feet, bound to have
    screwed up roads, etc

hope you are all okay, we're just fine

    PS PS

this one felt in Arizona we heard

Happy 4th July to all you Americans. A bit different this year, but hope you all have an enjoyable and safe weekend.
As they used to say on the television: "Let's be careful out there."

Our city has decided to, instead of 1 big fireworks display that many people would drive to, split it into 4 smaller displays in different places to encourage people to stay home and watch. After problems with where they were going to happen (one was next door to an animal shelter), they finally chose 4 places that are on the outskirts of town, far from the city center and not visible to most. As a result, I saw interviews with people, and they all said, "Yeah, we'll drive out there to see it."
You really can't watch from in the car, so I'm picturing hordes of people driving to the events, getting out of their cars and congregating in open spaces with a good view

^ Sounds like a plan. But not a very good plan...
