    Olympic Winter Games 2018

    Is anyone watching it ?
They broadcasting the games here live but because of the time difference they run in the night.
I mostly watching the revision during the day.

    We are quite successful.

My little country has five competitors - none has a hope in hell of winnning anything. But, I love watching the competitions. Using a VPN, all can be viewed live (or delayed). Great entertainment for this armchair fan.

If you don't want anything too demanding, try the curling. It's like chess on ice. Very absorbing and must be hellishly difficult.

Winter Olympics involve mostly people sliding around almost out of control. It's fun to watch.

Really enjoying the BBC coverage here in the UK.
Snowboarding slopestyle competition. Commentators forgetting most of us have never watched the sport before and failing to expalin any of the terms for the tricks, my wife swears one was called a ging gang goolie goo. Then describing a run as flawless only for the judges to score it in the mid 70's followed by one that the commentators said was not up to his usual standard then the judges score it in the mid 80's. No clue what's going on but I like it!

Speed skating; typical British approach, we have one exceptional skater (Elise Christie) so they build her up beyond all reason. She was a sure thing, wins everything, had written promise of a gold from the olympic commitee, farts like rocket to exceed the speed of sound. Falls in the final whilst running fourth out of fifth. Way too much pressure, but her heart break has now been headline news for two days.

My favourite though, the curling; We have a summer sports, athletics, middle distance running legend, Steve Cramm commentating on people pushing stones down an ice ring at a target and 1. Trying to make it sound exciting, 2. Acting like he understands any better than we do what is going on. We may get a medal or two out of it though so, best sport in the world.

Here in the UK we have a few small mountains in Scotland where we get enough snow to Ski on for about a week each year. No wonder the only winter sports we are any good at are the crazy ones like the skeleton luge. Going head first down an ice slide with no brakes on a fancied up metal drinks tray dressed like a colourful sperm; mental, but again we may get a medal or two so come on you Brits!

Ireland is still not on the medal list. Nor ever likely to be.
