Stop Eating Our Chile Ye Bastards

Our New Mexico green and red chile is so popular now that most of it is getting bought up and shipped out of state!

This means we, who live here where it is grown, may have to generally eat inferior chile brought in from Texas and Arizona! Yuk! (no offense to denizens of said states).

We don't have alot here, so grow your own damn chile and leave us ours!

actually I buy mine from a lady I know who farms it here, but still!

We have our own chilli plant on the window sill. It's quite a few years old now and produces these lovely hot chillis that we use for curries, etc. No problem to grow, just need to re-pot it every year and feed it occasionally. (Obviously, it needs water as well.)
It is prone to green fly and I like my chillis to be vegetarian so have to get rid of the little critters - spray with garlic infused water! Stinks for a few hours, but seems to work.

It's our own fault really, as people move away from here and have chile sent to them, then they open up shops and sell it.
I used to send chile to my sister in Portland, now she can buy it there!

I'll bet if you are anywhere in the U.S. you can google "New Mexico chile" or "Hatch chile" and it's being sold, and served in restaurants near you.

I agree completely. I live in Wales and because of the Japanese and Norwegians there aren't any left around here at all.
