    for the chess enthusiasts ...

white to move and mate in 2

(for clarity, white has king and queen, black has king, rook and 2 pawns)

is the idea that we say what the moves should be?

maybe the queen moves to C6
    - if king goes left, the queen goes to D7

I can't do it in 2 moves. Three, yes.
    Q-B7 or Q-D6.

Ah, got it! Do you want it revealed, or wait for a while?

You can't castle when in check, I think.

How many Knights is it possible to position onto a standard chess board so that no knight could take another on it's next move?
(Saw this on TV and thought it was clever)

Your right, you can't castle when either piece or the squares in between are under attack.

P.S. Waiting after finding the solution so as not to spoil other peoples enjoyment was a really good idea...
Wish I had thought of it (or read your post) before getting over excited at having actually solved it and posting the answer.

    Really sorry!
    You smart. Me dumb.
