Bacon anytime in about three minutes!!

You can easily cook bacon in a microwave by wrapping three slices (1100 watt for 3 to 3.5 min) in a paper towel with layers between each slice. I just use one full sheet and roll the slices into it one after the other.

The bacon grease gets trapped in the paper layers and sizzles the bacon to an even crispness. Most of the grease stays in the paper towel but use a deep dish or tray (George Foreman drip tray works well). Afterwards the paper towel (Bounty in my case) comes off very easily without any tearing. Use a fork...it's hot.

Since a microwave does not cook evenly I've found fewer or more slices at once screws up the batch. Microwaves are different. You might have to tweak the process but here is a place to start..

Far be it from me to interfere with your happiness.

Maybe butter the bacon prior to wrapping it? And while your caramelized onions are cooking you can make bacon and have a BLT. And then make more bacon and have a bacon burger. And then MORE bacon and crunch it for salad sprinkles...no, wait, that might be too healthy. Oh I know!! Sprinkle them into your caramelized onions!

    See! Still happy.

you can get those flat-packed bags of microwavable popcorn,
with butter inside. Maybe you could adapt those to hold bacon
    with butter.

My latest diet suggested butter in coffee. It seems to be catching on.

despite sounding gross I decided to try butter in coffee and the flavour isn't
too bad, though the oily aftertaste is. I also note that the guy via the link is
touting it for it's health benefits and yet he looks moderately ill.

I have a couple of friends who are vegan and they look about the same.
One of them looks like a strong gust of wind would smash him to powder and yet he talks about how great he feels.

I've known vegans. They all reverted back to omnivorousness. There is just something satisfying about sinking your teeth into raw flesh.
