    Thumbs up

Trump wants to get rid of Jeff Sessions, that's obvious,
that way he can fire Robert Mueller and stop the Russian Investigation

he will probably wait until Congress recesses,
    fire Sessions, and nominate another

Democrats say they will not take the recess,
but unsure if that would work

    HOWEVER

Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, just tweeted

    http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/ch...rticle/2629820

Chuck Grassley warns Judiciary Committee won't consider replacement for Jeff Sessions this year if Trump fires him

    good for him

Chuck Grassley Tweet: Everybody in D.C. Shld b warned that the agenda for the judiciary Comm is set for rest of 2017. Judges first subcabinet 2nd / AG no way

LOL They're never going to stop using that lame tactic. But unfortunately, all those who worship Trump swallow it hook, line, and sinker -
follow him blindly like sheep to the slaughter.

There's also some legitimate concern at the DOD that he'll declare war on North Korea via twitter without giving them a heads up beforehand. It would be really awkward for them if the North Koreans started invading South Korea and all our generals were like "the fuck is going on? oh hang on, let me check twitter, yup Donny declared war 2 hours ago, nice of him to tell us."

US admiral stands ready to obey a Trump nuclear strike order
    AP | Updated: Jul 27, 2017, 04:54 PM IST

The US Pacific Fleet commander said on Thursday he would launch a nuclear strike against China next week if President Donald Trump ordered it,
and warned against the military ever shifting its allegiance from its commander in chief.

Well, well, well. John McCain certainly added drama to proceedings - coming back to the Senate so soon after surgery, and then providing the killer vote. It's interesting to note that he wasn't the only one who didn't agree with the Obamacare repeal bill as presented, but others worked on the assumption that negotiations with the House would lead to a better one.
What chance the Republicans and Democrats can now sit down to design a workable health care regime that benefits those Americans who cannot afford the astronomical bills?

The chance would be zero. While I think the Dems would be willing to work with them, the other side isn't going to.
They'll just continue to chip away at Obamacare like they've done for the last 8 years and when it finally fails, they'll go "see, we told you."

At least now they can move on to not doing tax reform & not building the wall.

I may not always agree with his politics, but I have to admire and respect the man's courage and integrity. It would be difficult to find a better political speech in modern politics.

I'm an Arizona transplant but we try not to mention his name around my husband or you get quite a visceral response from him.

McCain was quite the "Maverick" back in the day but around the time that Dubya and him tried to run for Prez, he pretty much turned into a hard line pure Republican,
because he was afraid that the rank and file Republicans wouldn't vote for him and he was even worse when he ran against Obama,
and hearing him badmouth him for the last 8 years on pretty much every idea and policy when it definitely came across as sour grapes,
I think it's somewhat hypocritical to hear him talking about the need for bipartisanship when he was lacking in it during the last 2 terms.

That being said, I wouldn't wish a man to die because I disagreed with his politics,
but it sounds like he might be looking at the end of the road and wondering where the man he used to be was.
