i've seen it written that being relieved at cruz beating trump is like being relieved that your very drunk friend only pissed down your leg rather than puked up over you

are they really both that bad?

is hillary already picking out curtains for the oval office?

There are some people who are afraid that there could end up being a Trump/Cruz or Cruz/Trump combo in the White House.
Maybe the first would be possible but I couldn't imagine the Donald settling for a VP job.

I don't think Hillary is an absolute shoo in for the job but I still can't see Bernie as a serious candidate in the long run
and if it came down to Trump and/or Cruz vs. Hillary, I can't see him having much of a chance.
He'll probably get somewhat higher numbers than Mitt or John McCain did but not enough.

if prohibition taught us anything, it's that people will still make muslims in their bathtubs

as an idiot's guide for those of us who have no clue how the u.s. election works, am i right in thinking that this round of voting is each state choosing which candidate of each party they want to become the party leader/candidate? - and, after that's been settled, the two winners (republican and democrat) then go head to head in the actual presidential election?

if so, i presume the voting in each state is only open to people who have registered as supporters of the individual parties?

the shows (in the u.k.) reporting the state election results are the first time i've even heard some of the names - i had no knowledge of cruz or sanders before a couple of weeks ago - would that lack of international profile be a cause for concern at all to u.s. voters?
