I don't want to say this and sound like our Tangerine colored Prez but this happens all too often around here.
The area we live in is largely Hispanic and a lot of the Mexicans (people from Mexico not Mexican/American) tend to treat their animals as possessions instead of family members,
so fairly often if they have to move suddenly, the pets get tossed out the back door.

Dogs usually get picked up fairly quickly by animal control or another family but we usually have a lot of cats/kittens around here because no one's going to catch a cat easily.

I do occasionally spend extra money leaving a bowl of cheap cat kibble on our front porch table so the dog can't get at it,
but that's only when the numbers get really bad around here.

    I'm ok, somewhat annoyed.

I now have everyone's furnaces turned off and a/c on, so of course now it'll be unseasonably cold again for the next 4-5 days.
Fortunately the people now know what I'll say if they call to complain.

Also, my ex-middle-eastern renting neighbors pulled a midnight move and tossed a goodbye present over the wall into my back yard when they left:

Bastards. Almost hit my lilac. I know the guy who owns the house and he says they were behind with rent and left no forwarding address etc. so I can't take the trash in my truck and return the favor.

The good part is those guys wore so much cologne the smell would get sucked into my house by my rooftop swamp cooler and stink the place up, glad to be done with that. lol no more eau de la dirtbag.

    Satisfied.

Tonight's tasty beverage is a Bloody Mary.

The other night I was craving one and even though I had all the fixings for it, I only had rum for it and it wasn't very good.
Tonight I have Smirnoff and I'm drinking one delicious Bloody Mary if I do say so myself.
Just enough heat from the horseradish to make it interesting yet not overbearing.

It's nice to see my mixology skills haven't eroded with age.

P.S. I might have another after this but no more as I have to be up early to go to the optometrist again to get my eyes retested.
My glasses came in last week and they weren't right, so they are butthurt and told me that a full week wearing them was required
and even though I told them I wasn't going to wear them because I was too scared to drive with them,
they had no appointments available until after the 7 days they wanted me to wear them had passed.

    I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

you said you've been watching some early Sopranos?

there was one episode where some rat guy and christopher were waiting
to hook up with some women and it went something like:

rat guy: do I smell okay?
christopher: you smell like paco raban crawled up your ass and died.

    Satisfied again.

I still have about 2, maybe 3 drinks worth of mix that I made the other night and it'll go bad if I don't finish it,
so I guess I'm forced to have a couple more of those excellent Bloody Marys.

Oh, the crosses that I have to bear.

P.S. I should actually remember most of my posts this time.

    Angry.
I was out for a run on one of my bikes when some tosser in a white van pulled out of a junction right across my nose. I managed to avoid the prick with a combination of reactions & good fortune there wasn't anything coming the other way.
I followed him for a bit as he was going the same way I was and his dickhead passenger goes & lobs half a a can of Rockstar out the window at me... Suffice to say I've flagged it to the cops as the next guy might not have had the training I've had & ends up dead.

glad you are unscathed. The next time you go out:

(with apologies to anyone inadvertantly reminded of that bit in the Jonah Hex movie)
