And even if I do find it, I can't get it out of there. It's a cinder block wall and it looks load bearing (for the most part)
I have zero idea what the little opening is for but I'm done crawling under the house for now.
My heart was beating like a jackhammer on the last trip.

Given the warm/hot/dry conditions here, in a month max, it'll be a mummy,
though there might be a small re-occurrence when our "monsoon" season gets here around June.

    mood today is unexpectedly unsettled

woke up this morning to no hot water - immersion heater has likely gone - being a weekend, our rental association can't get anyone out to us until monday

i've sent the gf to her parents until monday night so she can at least get a wash etc. - it wasn't how we planned our weekend but needs must - i will be on my own

to make matters worse, i had to come home from work at lunchtime today - sustained a deep cut on my toe while trimming my nails this morning and the bugger only stopped bleeding around 20:00, the blood thinners for my fucked up heart and the fact my osteoarthritis doesn't let me get close enough to my toes to see what i'm doing being to blame - lost a reasonable amount of blood, nothing more than enough to leave me light headed with a bit of flickery vision tho

she was unhappy about leaving me in that state but i didn't want to be worrying about her stressing because she can't wash - she was happier when i decided i probably didn't need a trip to the hospital

oh yeah, today was also her last day in the job she's been doing for 24 years but took redundancy from because the company (royal mail, the uk postal service) is going down the tubes - she doesn't yet have a new job to go to ...... so that helped

what else can go wrong this weekend? - stay tuned ......

    Resigned...

I guess after the upcoming temp summer job this month, I'll have to get serious about trapping these cats and getting them fixed.

Bandit's first white cat is giving birth out in one of the chairs right now and there's a tag team kitty cleaning (Bandit and her) going on.

I see 3 so far. A black and whitish one, a blond & whitish one & a whitish one.

There's two fully grown cats in a chair cleaning everything furiously so the descriptions are sort of vague.

I ain't saying there's a rogue asteroid hurtling towards Earth, clutching
a scrap of paper with your address on it, but perhaps best not to answer
the door this weekend if someone rings the doorbell in a jaunty fashion.

    ...

Jokes aside, I have always used lightweight wirecutter/nippers (intended
for electronics) to clip my nails - a lot more control.

    A bit nervous.

There ended up being 4 kittens. A black and white one, a sickly looking grey and white one and two white/blonde ones.
Well, Mama was gone when I woke up from my nap along with the sickly looking grey and white one.

I don't know whether it died or if she's moving them. Either way I'm glad that I fixed the few places yesterday where they were getting under the house.
The other 3 kitties are up in the chair along with their grandma (Bandit) but I don't know how much (if any) milk she has left.

Never mind, she moved them from the front porch to underneath the decrepit shed in the backyard.

Enough protection under there but we'll have to watch for a lot of rain before they get big enough to get around on their own.

Honestly, I have zero idea if they are all under there but New Mama is going in and out of there.

We never saw her moving them but the first 2 took several hours to disappear off the porch and the last two took about 30 minutes.

This no drinking Friday night has really helped me feel good on Sat. morn when I have to get up early. It's reduced my intake per week and has been generally more healthy for me.
    I'm happy about it.
