My heart is breaking right now. There is a so far unclaimed tiny grey kitten in my backyard and I just can't feed another kitten by syringe.

I just don't have it in me. I don't even know if PACC'll take it from me. It's not a newborn, it's eyes are open it moves around a bit but it's not viable as an kitten yet.

I left it out in the yard hoping a skittish mother will come back and get it, and with a low of 61F, it shouldn't freeze to death.

I hate to sound cruel but at 52, I just can't do 4 hr feedings for the next month anymore. It's not even the cost.

If it's still there tomorrow, I get it in a shoebox with something warm in it (but leave it outside) until I can call someone at PACC Monday at noon.

When I woke this morning, I went out and checked and I don't know where the little grey kitten is, but it wasn't there.

I walked around, clicking my tongue and calling "kitty, kitty" and it's not around there or better yet, not crying for its mother.

By the time I got back to the computer, I had an email from Walmart.

    1:47PM to 11:15PM. I guess that's one hell of a delivery route.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen..I bought stuff from Wally World again and they're using the same OnTrack delivery service so I'm keeping an ear out for trucks tonight.

We bought a backup Egg Pod because the one we have has more uses but it is starting to show the wear.

It's probably been used at least 90 times in the last 6 months.

^ About 30 minutes after I made that post, an ugly looking white passenger van (think older VW-type van) pulled up,
and a guy (with a woman in the van) handed me a package through the driver's side window.

It would have felt pretty sinister if it wasn't for the fact that only a Egg Pod was changing hands.

    Tired.

It wasn't all that physically draining, just a lot of standing and/or walking.

I got the Pfizer one and my 2nd is scheduled for the 28th at the same time as this one was.

I'm allergic to penicillin and codeine so for some weird reason, I had to wait a half hour (instead of 15 minutes) after the shot.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

I'm home now. I stopped by the place & treated myself to an $8 preroll and then AFTER I got home, found out that our stimulus check came in.

Mama's tired today but there's going to be some shopping tomorrow.

^^^^^Glad to hear that all went well

As far as allergies goes, i'm lactose-intolerant and i'm allergic to bees/wasps.
Every time I see one of those nasty and noisy Hornets flying around in the balcony, on Summer, I always RUN like crazy.
Bees are definitely not a problem. They won't sting as long as you make them do their job peacefully. But, Hornets, damn........
They're always up to something devilish. Can't stand them at all.

In my youth I used to keep tarantula (nothing extreme, a mexican redknee, brazilian blacks)
When I bought the first one, I asked the relevant questions like what happens if it bites me.
The guy in the shop said not to worry, it is typically no worse than a bee sting, and then added unless you are allergic to the venom, in which case it will kill you in 10 minutes.

Again, being safety conscious I asked how I would go about finding out if I am allergic to the venom.

Well the guy said, first the spider bites you and 11 minutes later you will know if you are allergic.

the thing with wasps is that they fly quite slowly, so the key is
to have a flyswatter and to unleash your inner John McEnroe.
