    A bit cranky.

It's summertime so we don't have to be up at the crack of dawn to get the kid ready for school, yet one of the neighbors thinks 5:30 AM is the time for power tools.

Record it, aim speakers at his house through an open window, and play it back at 1am

if we choose to think the best of people, perhaps he is making an early
start at baking cupcakes for the whole neighbourhood.

    Exasperated.

It seems like every time I turn on my computer, there's something else that wants an update.

Last week was... Feature update to Windows 10, an update for Net Framework & a Security Update for Adobe Flash Player.

I login today to find another Security Update for Adobe Flash Player, Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and a Cumulative Update for Windows 10 waiting for me.

After that Firefox wants to update but unknown to me, it's one of those irritating ones that reset all my browser settings on it.

All the important stuff was still there but it takes me 30 minutes to craft it back into MY browser again.

A bit tired and I'm probably not going to sleep any better tonight.

I've got to get up at 4:30 AM to go pick up the dude who rakes the cat sh*t and does the other bits of landscaping we need.
Sure, not having a car of his own is a pain in the ass but unsurprisingly there's not a lot of folks in the cat waste removal business so I'll put up with it for the price he charges.

I have to be over at his place at 5:30 AM so he can get a start and finish it up before it gets too hot.

saw this online article today about a famous Bavarian German Breadmaker,
who's all over Germany famous particularly for his traditional soft Pretzels

got me homesick, my Oma makes these, too, and they're awesome!!

This German Baker Makes What May Be The World’s Best Pretzel
In the tiny Bavarian town of Dachsbach, Arnd Erbel bakes pretzels and pretzel breads the old-fashioned way.

A few days before I visited baker Arnd Erbel in his southern German bakery, a Hamburg newspaper described him as a “bread god.” Erbel’s breads are renowned among baking connoisseurs and served in many of Germany’s best restaurants, but he was not comfortable with deification. “I’m not a bread god,” he told me in his bakery kitchen after I arrived. He sees himself more as bread’s humble servant: “My being is here to help with sourdough.” With his bald head and round glasses Erbel appears more monkish than almighty. It was fitting, then, that he was baking Breze (as they are called in Bavaria), German-*style soft pretzels, a baked good that originated in European monasteries in the Middle Ages. While Americans tend to see soft pretzels as a simple snack eaten at ballparks or mall food courts, Germans cherish them as a national symbol. Pretzels were once so special that Medieval painters would dab a few on the table of the Last Supper, and for centuries, pretzel-shaped signs were the emblem of bakers and their guilds, hanging above doorways as a symbol that you could find fresh-baked breads inside.

I've had kind of a hard day. Couldn't sleep well last night, woke up early for mom stuff, turned out I needed to run all over town after to chase down stuff for her, took me hours.
Had to replace a swamp cooler pump, very hot on roof, but I've done it so many times I had it done in 3 minutes, hard wired into disconnect box.
Then I noticed the spider was partially clogged, had to go get a new one and install, that took me longer and was a pain because of deteriorated state of cooler.

I'm home from that now and should be pretty wiped, but I'm feeling really good for some reason. Looking forward to a Saturday night of ruining that

one of the worst days i've had to endure in the current job .....

highlights include: dead worms in my shoes, black trousers covered in sunflower yellow clothes dye, and a shit-heel of a stand-in manager who's so anal that, upon being told he had miscounted one of the tills by £20 too much and that we literally had 1 £20 note fewer than he had counted (ie. just count the £20 notes again and there's your problem, 10 seconds' work), insisted on counting every fucking bit of change in the till just to prove he could find the problem himself without my help ...... the problem was that he'd counted 1 too many £20 notes by the way, something akin to what i vaguely remember having told him 10 minutes earlier

i get the alpha dog thing, i really do - trouble is, if you want to make yourself look like the alpha dog, you have to get past making yourself look like a cretin first
