    Tired, so tired...

BondJmsBond, we got the swamp cooler all cleaned up and ready to go.
Motor and pump are a little iffy but all the lime scale (we've got a large plastic one) is power washed and scraped off,
All the rusted wires and metal grid holding the pads in is either replaced or scoured and rustoleumed
and we put new pads in and we're currently enjoying a nice cool breeze through the house without cartoon dollar signs ($$$) leaking out of the central air unit.

Wow good work. You do more stuff than 98% of everybody, including me
Make sure everything oilable is oiled, for motor make sure belt is adjusted to about 1" give with very easy finger pressure at belt midpoint between pulleys. Too tight makes it age by running hot and wears out motor bearings.

I take care of all my clients professionally and make sure it's done right, but you've heard the story about the mechanic who never fixes his own car..

My swamp cooler is on the roof, and last year in a burst of laziness instead of climbing up cleaning it out oiling adjusting etc., I just turned on the water from the hose connection downstairs and used it.
Didn't even climb up there and look at it. It worked. This was possible because last fall I had been even lazier and just turned the water off and didn't drain it so the plug was still in place. So this year I've got some cleanin' to do.

I did that one year when I was still single and after a month or so the catfish smell finally disappeared.

keeled over on monday night and was taken to hospital having had a heart attack

blockage removed and a stent fitted in the offending artery/valve/whatever (dammit jim, i'm a patient, not a doctor)

3 days in the coronary care unit later, and i'm finally back home .....

trying not to appear too emotional for the girlfriend's sake, but i'm not afraid to admit i'm feeling it

I'm glad to see that you are still with us.

Honestly I don't care what defrabbit says about you in all those hateful posts of his that we have to remove before you see them
but the rest of us like you & the world's a much better place with you still in it.

You are fortunate indeed my friend. They're really good these days at heart stuff, as long as you get to the hospital alive. Glad you did

And now, due to the problem, you should be more closely watched and that's all to the good.

Me mum had a stent done along with a pacemaker and 2 angioplasties and she's ticking like a fine swiss watch, 10 years now.

I am gratified you are still with us sp88!
