at one time voted the best 'keeper in the world, gregg is regarded as a legend at manchester united because of his heroics in munich and also the role he played in the impossibly difficult period following the virtual decimation and subsequent rebuilding of the team

An amazing player and an even more amazing human being.

Having gotten himself and a small child out of the crashed plane, he went back time and again to save the lives of other players and to retrieve the bodies of his team mates.
Two weeks later he pulled on the Manchester United Jersey to play Sheffield Wednesday and beat them 3-0 as a tribute to his fallen comrades.

The word hero doesn't come anywhere close. God Bless Harry

So Dortmund is out of the CL after a 2-0 loss in Paris.
More unexpected that Liverpool is already out.

The next matchday here in the Bundesliga is historical. All matches without visitors.

The UEFA has moved the Euro 2020 into the summer of 2021.

More time now to bring the season to a normal end.

in the uk, it's not yet decided what's going to happen about the remainder of the season - liverpool are sitting miles ahead of everybody in their quest for a 1st premier league title but some clubs are playing hardball and refusing to agree to making it official

trouble is, if you make 1 team's final position official, you really have to do it for everyone, and many teams are still fighting to avoid relegation

it the matches aren't completed, liverpool surely won't want an asterisk next to their name in the list of winners .....

Here in Germany it's not the question if the they will playing it's only when they start playing again.
The Bundesliga would loosing around 700 Million Euro if they would cancelled the season.
But the matches will be playing without visitors that's for sure.

manchester united's excellent tribute to the efforts of all those nhs (national health service) staff currently working in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic

the stadium was lit blue (usually anathema at old trafford ) and the united electricians went to work on the fusebox for the main sign

in case you're wondering, that's the backsides of charlton, law and best we're looking at, with matt busby in the distance

so what are the latest plans across the world's brightest leagues about how to deal with the fallout caused by coronavirus? - what is happening in your own countries?

here in the uk, nobody can agree on what course of action should be considered

the idea of cancelling the rest of the season and having the current positions stand seems to have fallen by the wayside, and rightly so - it would be devastating for liverpool to be denied now, but it's really an unworkable situation - if you declare liverpool victors, without completing the matches, do you do the same for lower divisions? - even if that happens, how do you deal with the resulting promotion and relegation issues - those teams which would be relegated would fight tooth and claw against it due to not having had the opportunity to avoid the drop - but holding off any relegations this year would seriously screw up the league structure for seasons to come when clubs are already struggling to fit in all the fixtures demanded of them

so, the matches really have to be played and the league season completed - but how does that happen? - the english football association are advocating playing the games either with very minimal crowds or no crowds at all - teams are already voting against that because they argue it denies them the same opportunity to enjoy home advantage over teams they've already played - there has even been talk of playing the remaining matches at neutral grounds to limit the crowd involvement

    it's a nightmare

the more it drags on, a total cancellation and using the previous season's standings to decide eligibility for cross-nation competition looks like the only fair way to go, as far as the clubs are concerned

France and The Netherlands have already cancelled the season. In The Netherlands without declaring a Champion and in France it's Paris.

Here in Germany they will playing the rest of the matches because the would loosing to much money from TV.
The plan is to start again somewhere in May and then playing every three days.
In the moment they testing all players and club staff.
Two players and a carer from the 1.FC Köln were tested positiv and now isolated.

The weekend has seen the restart of the Bundesliga.
But watching the matches without visitors is a little bit like watching a training exercise. You could hear every word from the coach or the players.
And i think that teams with a high technical level havinga big plus on their side.
A lot of underdogs living from the support of their fans and the mood.
