    New file host

Since Uploadto.us (aka Ultramegabit) is dead, I'm searching for a new filehost.

    These are my wishes:

    - files shall not be deleted after a period of time (TTD)
    - good download rate for free users (please more than 50 KB/s)
    - no captchas (if possible)

TTD is the most important. Any ideas where to upload my precious data?

depends where you plan to post.

Mediafire (free account) keeps stuff forever, but I would not use
it where the links can be crawled by search engines.

Solidfiles I like a lot better, but they do delete stuff (without any
notification) if your account is inactive, so I try to remember to
log into the account at least once a month.

yeah they are in some hot water as far as subscriptions. soon the only way you will be able to pay for ANY filehost is thru a 3rd party reseller.

I keep telling you guys...just ask me what filehost I'm using and then go buy something else.
If I pay for it, sure as shit they are going to lose their CC processing or the CEO gets his island compound invaded.

    Smile

    kinda unclear about these two

we usually only use them to download files under the free option
they do use captions, unclear about how long they keep files,
    usually not that bad

they are both relatively fast to download free from

    http://hugefiles.net/

    http://24uploading.com/

Jenny could fill you in on them more that we can

    hope this helps

Hugefiles has a lousy file retention time. They delete after 10 days if a file is not downloaded.

24uploading is a bit better, they keep files for 30 days for free users if the file is not downloaded.

I would go with Solidfiles to be honest. You can upload up to 50 GB on one account and all you have to do is login every 30 days. If you run out of room, just start another account.

I will try "Solidfiles" for now. Data not being deleted if it's not being downloaded is the most important for me. Login every 30 days is... acceptable.
