While I agree with some Republican ideas, I don't get the current popularity of Donald Trump.

Are the Republicans so bereft of plausible candidates that he represents a reasonable alternative?
Are people so sick of politics as usual they'd be willing to have him President just because he's different than the pack?

1. You know as well as I do that barring anything tragic happening, it'll be Jeb vs Hillary.
2. Dozens of Republicans suddenly go poof and we'd only lose Hillary...? Man, that is tempting.
3. For all his blustering about 10 billion, experts have said the real number is probably closer to 2 to 3 billion
and considering there are maybe 300 million people here, everybody would probably only get 6-9 bucks minus what he spends on the campaign, which is probably everything to begin with.
He has zero interest in really being the President and this is just an ego thing like it has been every other time he's run.
It's been about 15 years since they stole an election so there is that, but they don't have a shot in hell of actually winning this thing.
They'll take the states they always take and that will be about it.
Until they come to the conclusion that the future of their party isn't white rich people looking out for other rich white people anymore,
they aren't going to win any more of the national elections, so that's why they pull shit like the voter ID laws.
