    I can live with it.
It'll probably be better than the one Dan wanted to make (what with them being 50+ years old now with no Egon because Ramis died).
Thank God Bill Murray put a stop to it.

i'm never a fan of remakes when the original worked so well and had such good characters - if i watched it, i know i'd find myself too focussed on what's missing compared to the '84 version

for me, it's kind of like someone saying "hey, let's remake star wars"

but then again, this movie isn't being made for my generation .....

    Sorry, no.

I dislike most remakes. The original was and is just that, original. If it ain't broke........you know.
I sincerely believe and have for a long while now that they've just run out of ideas for new films.

I loved these originals and despised the remakes:
    Poltergeist.
Arthur. (still think they should be shot for this one.)
    The Thing.
More, I just can't think of them atm because I slept so late and it takes my brain time to wake up.

There are only two that come to mind that I DO like, The Crazies and King Kong.

if you squint a bit it they appear to have wooden legs, like pinocchio.

all I want, from the inevitable remakes, is that they use a
different movie title. Giving movies the exact same name
(Robocop, Total Recall, The Thing) does nothing but mess
    up internet searches.

I think we can all see the oliphant in the room here, eh?

But yeah, the bit with the guy with the pitchfork? fark.

i must admit, i thought this thread would be about the new fantastic 4 movie, going on the title - that's potentially an argument for remakes in the plus column (if it's any good)

Just based on that pic I don't like it; but maybe I'm slowly getting to be an old fart who doesn't like anything new. It could be great I don't know.

Yesterday I was doing some early-morning shopping for me mum and almost got run over by a girl looking at her phone while driving.

Inside, I remarked to the girl at the deli counter "Nobody has any sense anymore."

    Help me!

Yes, but which remake are you referring to..?
Even the Kurt Russell version is just a remake of this one...

The Thing from Another World (1951)

As far as remakes in general go, I don't care for them but we have been treated to a good few over our lifetimes,
so I'm not going to get mad against all remakes not being remade.
