    The NBA Thread

The Playoffs are starting, I'm kinda looking forward to games where the players actually try.

Don't really care about any certain team but the intensity level makes games more interesting; today the Warriors and Clippers play, they hate each other so the series should be entertaining.

    Burning questions:

Can the Heat repeat with a gimpy Wade?

    - that's pretty much it -

Warriors-Clippers WAS entertaining...for the wrong reasons. 51 fouls, two fouls within the first two minutes of the game, Andre Igouwada {sic) fouled out, Blake fouled out with 49 seconds to go. I think Golden State of Mind hit it on the head: Golden State survives the refshow

I did enjoy DeAndre making both free throws with three minutes to go (IN YO FACE MARK JACKSON) as well as Blake hitting both free throws too..too bad the Clippers couldn't pull it out in the end.

    Go Spurs Go...

Once more into the fray for my antique Spurs.

Old or not, I think once they got past that Dallas series...these old folks are going to win it all.
They put their foot in the Trailblazers asses and it looks good so far in the Thunder series,
and I think if they can get there, King James might get dethroned this year...

Especially if the Heat keep playing the way they did against the Pacers.

And we tied a record (sort of)

With the Spurs' 122-105 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals, the trio of Duncan, Ginobili and Parker achieved their 110th playoff win together.
That moves them into a tie with Showtime-era Los Angeles Lakers teammates Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Cooper for the all-time NBA record for playoff wins by a group of three.
Then the article this came from proceeded to tell why our 110 wins weren't as awesome as their 110 wins.
Smart market teams get no love.

The Heat are just getting torched, what happened to them?

It's like they suddenly decided they don't want to win anymore, or the Spurs discovered some secret or something..

    It's weird.

James looks like he doesn't really care but he's putting up his usual numbers,
Bosh and Chambers should be on the side of a milk carton because they've disappeared,
and I think Wade is just at the end of his career. (no offense meant to him...he has 3 rings)

Spurs are just playing better, and have better depth than the Heat do.
They can put folks like Boris, Danny Green and Patty Mills out there for long periods of time and let the big 3 rest,
and Miami just can't do that right now.
I still think the Spurs will win this but I'm hoping they don't let tomorrow's game get away from them.
They have a tendency (from years past) to not go for the throat when they really need to.

I'm hoping for one more monster game from Leonard.

I know, he zones out at times, looks like he's trying to remember where his keys are or something, looks like he'd rather be somewhere else; he's always been like that.
    ADHD or something.

Imagine his ability with Jordan's competitive fire.

LB and co. put a big monkey on their backs after they got all "not 1, not 2" all up in peoples grills, they as of now have failed to stand up to their own standards thou they have a story ending to pull off and if that happens then they'll cement themselves as great champions. Wade has been beaten up for years and Bosh is just the clingy friend.

When you drink a beer after your team win the championship,
the beer's just a lil' bit colder and tastes just a lil' bit better.

And Kawhi Leonard got the finals MVP.
