Beautiful day today. 70. I tried out the solar panel for my power station it charges even better than I thought so that's pretty cool.
The thing will run anything 500 watts or less; my tv, my desktop for a couple hours, a laptop, charge phone/tablet, run lights etc.
I'm a green guy
For the larger stuff - refrig., microwave coffeemaker etc., for any amount of time you need big boy solar + batteries, so I'm going to need a lot more money.

I'm doing well with the phone. It rocks and I use it, but I don't walk around with it stuffed in my face like the drones.
When in public it stays in my pants pocket, slowly mutating my chromosomes. If it rings or notifies a text I leave it until I'm alone again, since Mom is being taken care of and I don't have to be on instant call.
I will pull it out and watch the vid if I get a security cam notification of someone on my porch, it's so cool I can do that. If I moved the cam outside I could talk to people at the door, but then it'd probably be stolen and I don't want to talk to them anyway. I want to get lights and a siren, I could activate them remotely that would be awesome.
I use it to read books while waiting places, that's a good benefit for me. If something happens I can video it and become a viral kazillionaire. It's a win.
Just be careful.
