First day of the season above 80 degrees. Spring is officially here.

I know there's a big difference between the 93F that it is now and the 100/105F it'll be in a couple of months,
but I must say the evaporative cooler is doing a nice job at the moment.

2:43 PM on low cool, front door open and it's almost a bit chilly.
It's a little hotter than it was yesterday so there's none of that turning on and off the switch business today.

We might not need it for the rest of the week though....

It's raining now. Usually here, we go from too cold to too hot immediately, with no actual spring.
This year we're having the nicest mild spring, we have a very good snowpack from winter, and it's been raining just the right amount. Temps have been moderate, with at least the next ten days in the 60's and 70's.

    It's nice.

Our 10% chance of rain lasted 2 hours and was hard enough that I had to go out on the porch and grab the 5 porch kittens and bring them in.
I grab the can of the upholstery/carpet cleaner and a rag but no little accidents.
They played for a bit and sacked out on the couch until it was pretty much over with.

Tomorrow's a 70% chance of rain so it looks like my Mother's Day might be an inside one.

I hate getting tornado warnings when I don't have a basement.

Luckily for me, they were wrong and it passed west of me.

If you have a cast-iron bathtub, jump in, squeeze your family in too. I don't know how many times I've seen disaster pics of houses that are gone, and the 400lb tubs are still sitting right where they were installed. Good shrapnel protection too.
If you have a newer house with a flimsy tub then dig a big ass hole in the back yard, because those tubs are no protection at all.

Oh, and I just cranked up my swamp cooler. AAhhhhhh

We've had ours on and off for the last month or so but tomorrow is 87, then it's all low to upper 90's for the next week.
They even think Monday's going to be the first triple digit day.

It's that time of year again.

That tornado warning was no joke. They're saying a possible tornado touched down and whacked a regional high school not that far away from me.

They had a dinner going on but they got everyone out safely. The whole town has no power as well. Apparently, this is the first time we have had multiple tornado warnings issued in different areas of the state simultaneously as well. We're not Kansas, we never had this problem until recently. Anyone who thinks climate change is not a thing is full of sh*t.

We have the same forecast for severe weather till Friday. Isn't that special

Agree, we never had tornados until about the last 5 years. When I was a kid there was a rumor of one somewhere once, and that was it.
Now we get this every year - it may have actually been the same storm that hit you
