    I'm Spartacus...

In an absolute surprise to no one (Well, maybe to Kirk himself), Kirk Douglas died at the age of 103.

Kirk Douglas, Indomitable Icon of Hollywood's Golden Age, Dies at 103.

Baby hair with a woman's eyes, I can feel you watching in the night..
All alone with me and we're waiting for the sunlight, when I feel cold you warm me...
When I feel I can't go on you come and hold me, it's you and me forever...

Sara Smile, won't you smile a while for me?

consider the number of tv/newspaper obituary writers who have
drafted a kirk douglas obituary and then gone on to retire and die
of old age before it can be run.

    Smile

    RIP

While Kirk was extremely proud of "Spartacus", especially the role
he played in breaking the Hollywood Black List with it re Dalton Trumbo

his favorite movie was, and ours as well,

    "Lonely Are the Brave"

bought an inexpensive model kit for parts and they sent me the
slightly more deluxe version, which comes with:
    - a few thimble-sized pots of paint
    - a paintbrush
    - tiny bottle of glue

Which is fine, free is fine.

Thing is, though, I already had a larger bottle of this glue for maybe
30years and have barely used half. So I could probably time capsule
    this child bottle until 2050.

I was given a Fokker Dr1 kit by someone at work for a bit of a joke at Xmas & it had the toy glue bottle too: at least it's better that the old squeezy tube that did a Peter North over the carpet at the slightest provocation.
I've always preferred the brush on liquid cement myself though.

want to hear something Twilight Zone?

Vintage clock, hasn't been used for 30years. I wound it up about a
year ago to test it and subsequently handled it once or twice to note
details and take photos - interactions I would characterise as 'inanimate'.

I sold the clock and the second I started wrapping it for postage it
    began ticking...

no way to wind it down, so I put it aside and it kept ticking for a few
    hours, until just before midnight.

what's the deal with collars on polo shirts?

i mean, it's not like you're going to select an appealing top from the sports/casual section, then think "this really needs a dickie bow or a cravat to set it off nicely"

come on, fashion, sort it out

    and another thing ......

    why is a W called a "double U" when it's quite clearly 2 Vs???

"i know enough to know what's instantly forgettable"
