    I don't think so

Very official-looking. Experienced me even wondered about it for a second. When mouse hovered above links in message I get this

    h z z p s : / / m m e d . m i c r o s o f t . c o m . e v e n t .................................

I haven't got a scam email in quite some time, which makes this notable.

I can see lots of people clicking this and getting hit with who knows what. I hate these phone and email scammers.

It's right under where you would put the British equivalent of your social security number.

I had a lovely 12 hours or so.

The water pump on the swamp cooler went out late last so we had to switch to the more expensive AC unit, and run that one for the next 12 hours or so.
When I got up there last night, the water was full of fibers from the pads on the sides (Bond knows what I mean) and the water was kind of brown-ish. Pump was f*cked

Called the install guy this morning (One year warranty given - 3 months ago) and when he finally showed up, he wasn't shitfaced drunk but he had a "long lunch."
His helper and him crawled up there, he came right back down telling me that the pump was my fault because I hadn't had the cooler serviced this year.
Once I reminded him that he put it in three months ago and that the cause of the mess was him, he was way more polite.

After he left, I hoped up there and the fibers and stuff are still in the water but I had gotten a nice plastic filter tray to filter out the bad stuff before it hits the pump.
It was too hot today and definitely this week but I'll drain the cooler out myself one morning and clean the nasty stuff out of the water.
From what I read, this is normal with new pads.

Pump strainers come standard on almost all new installs, it's hard to conceive yours not having one unless he took it or something, that's odd. And totally his fault the pump died. Aspen pads will shed a bit, but not a whole lot; maybe the mesh holding a pad together is torn or something. The water should never be 'full' of fibers unless there's something wrong. Water can be a bit brown but shouldn't be too bad. On a new install 3 months in he should have drained, cleaned, and refilled it for you, and put new pads if needed too. I would have.

What helps a lot with that - especially if you have very hard water, is a bleed line - a tee you install in the line from the pump to the spider, and run a 1/4" line to the nearest plumbing vent on your roof, or water some plants with it. It's super easy. Cut the line from pump to spider, put the clamps over both sides of cut line then twist tee in and install clamps. Run bleed line through drain fitting and install on the tee. I can do this in like 1 minute there's a part you can adjust the bleed line flow with or use a clothespin. These use a bit more water, of course, so make sure it's adjusted down some from full on.
This stuff comes with all new swamp coolers to my knowledge and the guy should have left you those parts. I always ask if people want it installed or not.
I have one on my swamp cooler and it keeps the water good and fresh

I couldn't find a vid showing installation but here's one that shows what it looks like after

fortunate that his recalcitrance evaporated so quickly, I can't
imagine it would be easy to articulate the concept of "3" [months]
when the average person only has two kneecaps.

so anyway, I was digging through a cupboard of stuff and found an
unused bottle of Avon aftershave, which must have been there for
    at least 30years

...it's also shaped like a blunderbuss pistol.

    (not my pictures)

My Dad still has one of those unopened that we got him for Father's Day one year.

We used to play with the empty ones but the plastic trigger is always the first to break off, and the barrel cap is always the first thing to get lost.

They're so old, and so unfashionable that they've probably become collector's items. Maybe...

The real killer is that entire plastic trigger/hammer piece would eventually get broken and you'd just have a brown glass pistol looking thing.
Even if you tried to glue it back together, it would never remain fixed enough to slide back on the glass and stay there.

He might want to check on ebay and see what others are charging and if anyone's buying.
