i've always thought of myself as a humanitarian

turns out that, unlike the word vegetarian describing somebody who eats vegetables, the proper word is cannibal .....

    who knew?

I was cleaning my random picture sets megathread tonight and I only lost half a page and I only have two whole pages left of busted preview pics to fix.
(I did fix a page but I've been in the sauce tonight so complex forum activities should be kept to a minimum. )

Also: It never ceases to amaze me that due to a lot of the older zippyshare sets being posted over at PS,
that I have certain sets that are over 4 & a half years old and that's not bad for a 30 day without a download filehost.
My HEVC/H.265/x265 videos can be played with either VLC or MPC-HC

the other week I saw someone mention Pet Sematary. I have read
the book, but had forgotten how it ends, so I went back and read
    it again (not particularly remarkable).

A day(?) after I finished I saw that they are remaking the movie. It
would have been slightly more spooky if I had buried the book after
    reading.

I misread that as 1 bottle before bed.

when is a biopic not a biopic?

    *** spoilers ahead ***

watched bohemian rhapsody, the freddie mercury/queen biopic, a couple of nights ago - cinematic artistry (or concerns with) aside, it presented some problems

the climax of the film is along the lines of: freddie mercury makes a bad choice concerning an offer of a solo career, alienates the rest of the band, queen splits up, freddie gets a hiv diagnosis, an offer to appear at live aid materialises ..... can the 4 members of queen resolve their differences and be ready in time to play together at live aid? ..... will freddie's voice last through the performance before aids claims him?

it's an interesting denouement to the movie, but the plot doesn't quite ring true - queen never split, especially not as a result of mercury's solo outings (in fact, roger taylor had solo success a few years before mercury); the band had been touring the works album into 1985 so they were hardly out of practice for live aid 2 months later; mercury didn't get an hiv diagnosis until 2 years after live aid (according to his partner)

we've all become used to movies being altered for "dramatic purposes", but i'm left wondering what the real point of making a biopic is if the real events and motivations aren't going to be detailed, or at least referenced

it feels doubly disappointing somehow because of the heavy involvement of brian may, roger taylor and jim beach in the production of the film - are we meant to think of the movie as fact or fiction?

all that said, it's a decent watch - i'd have no trouble recommending it - just don't expect to learn much of factual significance

zero interest in biopics, but it is nice to see something succeed when
the initial reactions (to the promo material) were so negative. Also, that
ali g guy sucks, so it becoming a hit after he walked away is a bonus.

think this has been mentioned before, but these sites which allow
content producers to sell individual picture sets/videos sound like
a good idea, but I frequently see sellers applying unrealistic prices.

I don't know if they are naive or greedy or have an overinflated idea
of how much their art is worth (I actually think it is this one), but
US$1-1.50 per picture is just crazy.
