A few years ago we wanted to get rid of an 1990s-era couch and
armchairs set. Local charity shop came and took the couch and one
chair, but wouldn't take the other because it was too worn to resell.

I ended up dismembering the chair in my garage and putting a bit in
the bin each week over the course of a month or so.

Now you had a set of armchairs and one was fine but the other was too fu*ked up.

What were you doing to that other poor armchair..?

that moment when you reach the boss fight at the end of a challenging mini campaign in an rpg and your entire party repeatedly dies way too quickly, every single time you rush in to brave the battle, without ever having found a single weakness to aid you in the fight ......

...... only to discover that there's a tiny sweet spot to be found right on the edge of the platform, where you're just out of range of the boss's notice and the earthquake traps it periodically throws at you can't quite get close enough because the warning graphic (in this case, a circle of blue energy on the floor a second before the attack comes) can't overlap the platform edge ......

...... and you end up being victorious by literally not doing anything except keeping 1 finger on the mouse button for 10 minutes ......?

    that

Yeah, they've had so much much success in the past doing that.
