Thank you all for your good wishes, that means a lot to me.

Nicki's husband, Bob, was about the most easy-going, mellow and genuinely nice person I've ever known - not just on the outside or when it's easy but all the way.
Nicki's ok, Bob was a Vet and the funeral will be paid for.

This is what gets me. Nicki is just not the kind of person who does that and flatly refuses to consider it. She asked me not to tell anyone so I can't say exactly but she may well have a case. If I could go up there and be involved I might be able to swing her around, but Dammit I can't!

She's 64 which is problematic; but in a healthcare specialty where there is need - it's unknown whether she will find work. The backup plan is she comes back here so she'll be ok. She is holding up actually great under the circumstances, if she was in trouble I'd go there somehow; but I don't have to so phew. It's life.

Thank you so much again for the kind helpful words, love you guys.

washing the pieces of a model kit in m'bathtub and used a small drain filter
to stop any small pieces from being lost. After scrubbing everything I saw that
the filter had caught an m&m-sized hubcap-type piece, but when I reached for
it the attenuated tactility of my gloved hands bumped the filter, causing it to
flip upsidedown and the piece was lost down the drain.

(I have an identical piece so it is relatively easy to make an impression and
"cast" a new piece from epoxy putty)

Next time, I suggest you use the enhanced tactility provided by those specialised implements - fingers!

Would they have to change the "gimme five" greeting with "gimme 25" or "gimme 30"..?

My HEVC/H.265/x265 videos can be played with either VLC or MPC-HC

a friend is visiting some of their family on the East coast of the USA. Apparently
the flight usually takes close to 24hrs but several weather-related delays and missed
connections (due to those delays) added around 8hrs to the trip.
