"He was a cop, and good at his job, but he committed the ultimate sin
and testified against other cops gone bad.
Cops that tried to kill him, but got the woman he loved instead.
Framed for murder, now he prowls the Badlands...
an outlaw hunting outlaws, a bounty hunter, a Renegade!!"
First legal media I bought was Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles
The second was Led Zeppelin 4, both on cassette.
I might still have them, even though we no longer have a cassette player.
Thinking about Bilbo's original question - I knew/know all the music from my youth. Used to sing along, harmonise, etc. While I didn't play an instrument, (except piano) I am musical. Even now, just the opening bars is enough to get me going.
not strictly on topic but, when i used to have to stand on a stage and sing for a living, i could never even remember the words to songs i'd written myself
i used to have a little notebook that i would keep on the floor, next to my guitar pedals, with all the lyrics written in and would spend the time in between songs flicking the pages getting the next song ready
when not using the notebook, i've lost track of the times i've started a song in a state approaching blind panic, turned to the other guitar player and shouted "what's the first line?" - thankfully, he always seemed to know
also, i distinctly remember the one occasion when i did just hit a blank during one of our songs and just kind of mumbled a bunch of garbled crap that sounded like words without actually being words for an entire verse
