They finally made it 16 and over for the vaccine shot today and I'm eligible to use the state vaccine appointment site,
except that they don't have any appointments listed on the site for 3 months or more.

Supposedly they have more appointments coming Friday @ 11AM but I'm sure they'll be all gone by the time I log on.
I'll probably end up getting the shot on the tail end of this.

My HEVC/H.265/x265 videos can be played with either VLC or MPC-HC

But let me get to the point, let's roll another joint...
And turn the radio loud, I'm too alone to be proud...
And you don't know how it feels...
You don't know how it feels to be me...

You're close, though. We won't get near a vaccine before June, at the earliest. I expect to have it by August. 2021!

Btw, one branch of the family have caught it - kids are ok, adults less ok.

Well, it makes perfect sense to announce that everyone 16 and older can get the shot and then have shit for supply and appointments.

This is why I hate Republicans and Republican Governors especially.

Yesterday, Arizona turned down offers for the Feds to open up more sites here.

My State will not have the vaccine available for everyone 16+ until late April at the earliest.

My State has been Democrat controlled, with the Governor, Senate, and House controlled by Democrats, for several years.

I got an vaccine appointment for next Wednesday down at the University of Arizona campus.
I'm not going to have the truck so I'm going to be riding the bus down there and back.

My father (who will be 67 at the end of May and has got cardiovascular and cholesterol problems, as well MS) got the vaccine yesterday afternoon, finally.
It's still very early for people of his age (they're still vaccinating people in their late 80s) But, considering he is one of those people who are at a serious risk of getting the virus, he finally managed to get an appointment last month, and today he got his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
He will get his second dose by April 23.
As for people of my age (25-35yo), I will probably have to wait the end of Summer, when they will vaccinate the rest of the population. Still.
Compared to the USA or the UK, we're definitely very slow with the process.
Some speculate that by the end of June will be all vaccinated. But if they manage to get only 200.000 people vaccinated a day, it's gonna definitely be very rough.

I had my first one on Tuesday afternoon as we're working through the 50 - 60 range. 153k vaccinated yesterday in the UK, and total now over 31 million had their first. The second one has started for the over 80's as well.

As far as side effects go, there's a slight tenderness at the vaccination point, and I felt like I had bit of a hangover on Wednesday, but that's been about it. No fatal blood clots so far despite it being the AstraZeneca one. Unless I did have onwe & this is me in the afterlife thinking I'm writing this post...

^^^^^I don't have any preference, as far as the vaccine goes (whichever they offer me, I'll do it).
But I think the media overexaggerated regarding the deaths caused by the Astrazeneca one, and definitely caused a lot more anxiety among people than this pandemic has ever did.
You think that if the vaccine gave lots of serious side effects it would have been given to millions of UK citizens? I don't think so.
Besides, how many fatal deaths caused by mixes of Xanax/Valium/alcohol/antibiotics and opiates/opioids happened in the last 5 years or so? And, still. There are people dying of fatal ODs caused by Fentanyl, Heroin and alcohol/antibiotics combos almost everyday, even if COVID-19 deaths, obviously, are always under the radar. And the opioid epidemic is still a real problem, specially in the USA.
So, should we be afraid of getting the vaccine? Maybe. But then we should also be afraid of getting in the shower for fear of falling, or taking an aspirin because it causes stomach ulcers then.
Heck, even our multivitamin supplements may give us side effects if we take a lot of them.

My overall opinion is that when we're gonna die, we will know.
We all have a date, and whatever happens happens.......

I'll take whichever I'm offered, even the Johnson & Johnson one with it's 72% efficacy rate and 86% effective in preventing severe disease.

We've been living off the antibodies from when the 3 of us all got sick back in April and it's time for some back up.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course no vaccine is available for the kid yet and Hubby is going to try to schedule his next week if there's a spot open.

We thought it best to put a bit of space between our appointments in case something happens.
