Well, they still have the senate, but they lost the house. Case in point..... my congressional district was Republican for 24 years. Not any more.

I'm glad that my district might turn blue for the first time...ever. Historical data is hard to come by, but the district that I live in was only created in 1993, and has been red ever since.

Turnout was around 50% and 3-5 hour queues to cast a vote is the norm. Just seems weirdly inefficient having to sacrifice a day to vote. In the UK you can get it all done in 2 mins (no queues) and you're never more than 1 mile from a voting station. But to be fair the postal voting isn't trusted as much here as it's often lost on route or not counted due to late delivery.

The Republicans kept a slight majority in the Senate, and the Democrats made gains and took over the House.

It'll be the logjam scenario with possible attempt(s) to impeach Trump.

It may be a decent outcome, as I get nervous when either party has control of government.
